Top 5 Places/Dishes to Eat for Lent

The Corner Pub & Grill

The Corner Pub & Grill offers delicious Lent friendly food.

The Lenten season is finally upon us, as that means on Fridays we cannot eat meat. Sometimes this makes getting food difficult because it’s easy to run out of ideas, but here are my top places/food ideas for the season.

  1. This year some people may have given up eating out, or going to fast food places for their Lenten sacrifice. Some dishes that you can make are fish tacos, caesar salad, mac and cheese or even just some plain butter noodles!

  1. One place that you can’t go wrong is your local fish fry. If you attend one of these, then you cannot make the mistake of accidentally ordering something with meat in it. They usually have varieties of spaghetti, pizza, salad, mac & cheese and even more.

  1. If you want something more classy, The Corner Pub and Grill is a great way to go. They offer foods like grilled salmon salad, salmon BLT, beyond veggie burger and even more meat friendly dishes. The restaurant has a great atmosphere to take some friends out for a Friday dinner

  1. Keeping up with another sit down restaurant, The Walnut Grill offers some different and same foods as the corner pub and grill. They have fish tacos, blackened salmon, a BLT and a shrimp or salmon main dish, along with a surf n turf and seafood sections. If you are into fish, they also have classics like Caesar salad but noodles, pretzel bites and other items.

  1. One of my all-time favorite foods to eat during lunch is breakfast foods. Breakfast for dinner is so easy because pancakes, waffles and French toast can all easily be meat free. Add-ons like whip cream, chocolate and fruit can be added to make the food more delicious. It perfectly fits the requirements for Lent. I recommend going to IHOP or another local breakfast place. What makes this even better, is these are also foods that can be made at home.

On a Friday make sure to visit one of these places for some fantastic, no meat meals.
