Auditions are over and practices are on their way for the cast of “The Miracle Worker.” Mrs. Peters is excited to direct her first official play at St. Dominic and can’t wait to share to our school this inspiring story of Helen Keller.

Although the auditioning process was hard for Mrs. Peters due to the amount of talent each student has, she is confident in her students to put on an amazing performance.

“The audition process was really fun and challenging. The students are all so talented making it hard to choose just one per role. I am confident that the cast will be absolutely phenomenal, it is not going to be a show that anyone will want to miss,” Mrs. Peters said.

Directing can be stressful, but because Mrs. Peters has so much experience directing in the past, she isn’t having any problems so far. She is passing her knowledge about directing to two student directors who both want to learn more about directing.

“I am giving them an opportunity to observe how things go from a director’s view. I will also be giving them some opportunities to try to direct certain scenes and give their input on some notes and character work. I am so proud and thankful for these kids and their willingness to grow and earn new things,” Mrs. Peters said.

Mrs. Peters is excited to direct a play and share its message to St. Dominic. She wants to share Hellen Keller’s story in a respectful way, and can’t wait to share it in November.

“I am looking forward to sharing such an important message with the audience. I think that people will walk out thinking about the show and be inspired by the story and the students,” Mrs. Peters said.

St. Dominic wishes our students the best of luck during practices for the play, and that they will overcome any struggles they may have. We can’t wait to see this moving story and will see you on opening night!
