Crusaders share their favorite Christmas tunes!

One of the best parts of the Christmas season is the music. Whether you are listening to the radio, or even at mass, we can all agree that Christmas music gets you in the holiday spirit. Many St. Dominic students have strong opinions on what their favorite Christmas songs are.

All I Want for Christmas is You– Mariah Carey

Did you know that Mariah Carey makes between $600,000 and $1 million every December? The Christmas classic that everyone knows and loves is a staple for many of our Crusaders.

“I love All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey because it’s my mom’s favorite song and I’ve listened to it since I was little,” senior Ella Boeding said.

It’s Beginning to Look Like Christmas– Michael Bublé

Michael Bublé has many classic Christmas hits, but It’s Beginning to Look Like Christmas is popular among many Crusaders.

My favorite Christmas song is It’s Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas because it gets me in the mood for Christmas and makes me happy,” junior Graces Daues said.

Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)– Mariah Carey

All I Want for Christmas is You isn’t Mariah Carey’s only hit. Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) is another beloved Christmas tune.

Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) is at the top of my Christmas playlist because it’s one of the Christmas songs I can blare on repeat and not get tired of it,” senior McKinley Curran said.

Snoopy’s Christmas– The Royal Guardsmen

Perhaps less well-known is The Royal Gaurdsmen’s Snoopy’s Christmas. Despite its lack of popularity, this song never fails to bring a smile to our students’ faces.

“My favorite song is Snoopy’s Christmas because I loved watching A Charlie Brown Christmasas a kid. Because it is never overplayed, I never get tired of it during the season,” senior Adri Weber said.

Silent Night– Celtic Woman

Although many students prefer pop songs, some of our Crusaders also enjoy listening to the classics such as Silent Night.

“My favorite Christmas song is Silent Night because it reminds me of elementary school when we would sing it as a class,” junior Emma Larkin said.

There is no doubt music brings everyone closer together during the holidays, so be sure to add these fan favorites to your Christmas playlist!
