Chick-Fil-A and Raising Canes compete for the best title

The debate between the superior chicken fast-food chains, Chick-fil-A or Raising Cane’s, has been going on for years. With a wide variety of topics to judge both restaurants on, it becomes difficult to decide which is better. Although Cane’s is open every day of the week, they only have a few menu items, while Chick-fil-A boasts an extensive menu with food galore! But ultimately, the question remains: which has the better chicken?

To start, Raising Cane’s is known for their famous “Cane’s sauce” to dip their crispy chicken tenders in. The tangy yet spicy flavor of their house sauce arouses quite the argument because of its magnificent flavor. They also serve buttery Texas toast that can be substituted for their coleslaw or fries. Some may argue that Raising Cane’s is the better restaurant because of their Texas toast.

Cane’s only serves four menu items, three of them being different variations of their chicken finger meals, and just one chicken sandwich option. These four items conclude the entire menu, which is the reason many hungry customers may choose Chick-fil-A.

Chick-fil-A is statistically the more popular fast food chain, being named the third largest chain in the U.S. Virtually nowhere else will you find employees who treat their customers with the utmost kindness and serve their food in such a fast manner. With their unmatched customer service and incredible food, customers keep coming back to Chick-fil-A and it is easy to see why they are in the top three.

To compete with Cane’s, Chick-fil-A also has a house sauce that, in my opinion, is better than the “Cane’s sauce.” Their menu is complete with breakfast items, chicken sandwiches, nuggets, grilled chicken, salads, waffle fries, soup, mac and cheese, fruit, ice cream, cookies and delicious homemade lemonade. As you can see, even if you’re a vegetarian, Chick-fil-A has options for everyone.

“I like Chick-fil-A better because they have a variety of items, but I like Raising Cane’s chicken more because it is crispier,” senior Claire Donnelly said.

Chick-fil-A has one tragic flaw which is that they are not open on Sundays due to religious obligations. It is understandable, but what happens when you’re craving that juicy chicken sandwich after a late mass on Sunday? Many customers see this weekly close upsetting, swaying their opinion in favor of Raising Cane’s.

“Raising Cane’s chicken is better because it is crispier and has more flavor, but Chick-fil-A’s mac and cheese is literally to die for,” senior Olivia Stransky said.

After deep consideration, it seems like Chick-fil-A is the better restaurant as a whole due to its delicious variety of menu options. However, if you’re looking for the best chicken between the two, definitely stop by Raising Cane’s.
