Marvel’s Next Dynamic Duo
Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon, and James “Bucky” Barnes, aka The Winter Soldier, come together to bring the next Marvel masterpiece—The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
Fans are brought in with the empathetic beginning of the show, as Sam is dealing with his own family struggles and Bucky is dealing with a dark past. These situations make you want to sit down, grab a bowl of popcorn and let the story unfold in front of you.
“I honestly love the show. Right from the start, the story started to unfold in front of me, and I couldn’t wait to see what was coming next. Marvel shows are just so well made, and this is no exception and that’s for sure,” senior Christian Giarla said.
Some fans disagree. After watching the impressive WandaVision, people expected this show to hit even harder than that. Expectations are high, but will the show reach them?
“I find it slightly annoying. The only characters the audience cares about are Bucky and Sam due to their previous movies, but the show introduced so many characters without making them relatable. I just hope in the end it all comes together and just makes more sense,” senior Knoll Hirtz said.
Coming back to reality in order to right his wrongs, Bucky’s therapist has given him three rules—which he doesn’t seem to follow all that well. Wilson turns down the original Captain America’s request and turns in the shield, which finalizes the formation of a new Captain America: John Walker.
Not only were the Avengers mad, but fans as well are not super stoked about the new man filling Cap’ shoes—or should I say shield.
“The Flag-Smashers and Walker seem to be the main antagonists, but they don’t make any sense. Walker seems to be a patriotic soldier, but it is clearly being shown that he just blindly follows the will of the government. The Flag-Smashers are just boring… I am only watching for Wilson and Barnes,” Hirtz said.
Although Wilson and Barnes fight like an old married couple, they stick together like one as well. With their best friend being replaced, the world getting attacked by super soldiers, couples therapy and the fight to fix their own lives, the two are bringing us an amazing story that has us excited to see what happens next.
“I like where the show is headed. I think it has a lot of potential. I am not 100% gripped yet because WandaVision was so good. I am hoping the show still continues to grow, and I am excited to see what Zemo has to do with the comeback,” Mr. Matt Winkelmann said.
Fans are ready to see what happens with Zemo in episode three this Friday. Will he be a help or a burden to the two men on their journey to bring the world back to what it once was?
