Be Our Guest
The St. Dominic spring musical Beauty and the Beast will take place on March 26-29. The cast has been pouring their hearts and all their hard work into this performance. Everyone involved has stepped up to the plate for this musical to be a hit. Since many already know and love the original Beauty and the Beast, the show is expected to be a great success.
These final weeks are a critical time for the cast. They have spent months learning and memorizing their lines, as well as the choreography and songs. The cast spends hours at school and hours at home preparing for the show.
“I don’t know if people realize when they watch a show the amount of time and work the kids put into it. They spend many hours each week on rehearsals for three months,” said Mr. Cissell, Music Director.
There is also a lot of background work that goes into the show. Along with the cast, there are people who make the costumes and props, control the lighting, sound, makeup and hair. The set crew will also spend hours painting the set and setting up the stage during the show.
“The audience only sees the cast on stage, but the people behind the set play a huge role in making the play run smoothly,” said Cissell.
“Everyone should come see it. We have dancers, actors, band members and parents that have worked really hard to get where we are today. This performance is definitely going to be great,” said Mrs. Findley, Choreographer and Backstage Director.
