Captain Marvel Hype
Next week will see the release of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s twenty-first theatrical release, which begs the question: how excited are you about Captain Marvel?
“I think Captain Marvel is going to be good, but nothing special,” president/founder of the Marvel Club Kateri Koch said.
Although the hype for Marvel is huge, many Marvel fans are justifiably more hyped for Avengers: Endgame, causing Captain Marvel to slip their minds.
“I’m not as excited for this film as Marvel’s next film, Avengers: Endgame, but it’s kind of hard to compete with the Avengers, so that’s not that big of a deal,” senior Drew Gildehaus said.
“I think it has the crazy hard task of being between Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame,” Marvel enthusiast Mr. Winkelmann said.
Despite being in the Avengers’ shadow, Captain Marvel still has the interest of many movie- goers because of it’s importance to the End Game plot.
“Captain Marvel is going to be very important to how End Game plays out,” Marvel super fan Mr. Duncan said.
Fans’ excitement for the film varies from viewer to viewer, whether it be confidence in a strong film or confidence in the MCU.
“The after-credits scene from Avengers: Infinity War is what got me hooked. When Fury called her is what sparked my interest,” Koch said.
“I’m interested in Captain Marvel because I trust Marvel completely at this point. Out of the twenty films they’ve made so far, none of them have been bad, and a few of them are amazing. I don’t see why this film would be any different, especially with all the talented people involved. The thing that stands out the most to me is the cast. Brie Larson, Sam Jackson, Jude Law and Ben Mendelsohn are all fantastic actors and the early reviews have all praised their performances. Full reviews for the film aren’t yet available, but early impressions of the film on social media are all very positive,” Gildehaus said.
Captain Marvel will be released in theaters Friday, March 8. Be sure to see for yourself to decide if it is worth the hype!
