Pumpkins and Scares Galore
Spooky activities perfect for fall can be found all around town. There’re always the major staples such as Creepyworld and Fright Fest. However, if you’re not in the mood for crowds, lines and a lot of noise, there are plenty of options out there.
CFO Haunted Trail
This 20 minute long, walking thrill is put on every year by the Cottleville Firefighters Outreach organization. The trail is crawling with creepy characters who are friends with Mollie Crenshaw, a well-known witch that lived in Cottleville over 100 years ago and still haunts it to this day! If you survive, you can stay to enjoy bonfires, food trucks, beverages and the airing of A Quiet Place at either 8pm or 9:40pm. Tickets are $14 and all proceeds go towards a good cause, so make sure to come on out and get your scare on.
Adopt-a-Family Haunted House
St. Dominic class of 2017 graduate Brian Niehaus has his annual haunted house up and running. Ghosts, zombies, werewolves and ghouls will start haunting at dusk! The money raised goes to the Adopt-a-Family foundation, which assists poverty stricken families in obtaining groceries, bill assistance, social services and most importantly ensuring their children wake up with Christmas presents under the tree. Come support your Crusader alum on Saturday, October 27th, and on Halloween night at 4404 Spotted Fawn Ct. in Wentzville. It’s sure to be a fear-filled time.
Daniel’s Farm & Greenhouses
If you’re not one for being scared, a perfect option for some fall fun is visiting Daniel’s Farm in St. Peters. This spot is definitely Insta-worthy, with a gigantic straw maze, petting zoo, giant tire swings, corn boxes and antique farm equipment to take pictures by. You can also grab your pumpkins, gourds and other fall vegetables to bring home. To top it all off, Daniel’s Farm only charges $6 a person, so make sure to check it out!
Eckert’s Grafton Farm
Another fall favorite is apple picking. Eckert’s Farm is just the place to do this. Located in Grafton, the rural setting is the ideal spot for a quiet getaway. They offer both apple and pumpkin picking every day from 9am to 5pm. Grab a couple friends or your family and make the hour drive. The experience (and tasty apples!) you’ll come home with are worth it.
There are endless fall festivities in our community, so make sure you and your friends have some outdoor fun while the leaves are still colorful.
