Today, the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be forever changed thanks to the release of their new movie, Avengers Infinity War. Infinity War will combine all of the previous Marvel movies and bring them together to beat their ultimate enemy, Thanos.

Currently, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has produced eighteen movies over the course of ten years. These movies came out in three phases, all leading up to Infinity War. Phase One consisted of Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America and Avengers. Phase Two had Iron Man 3, Thor: Into the Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant Man. The last phase consisted of Captain America: Civil War, Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2, Thor: Ragnarok, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Black Panther. All 18 movies are connected in some way, leading up to the ultimate battle.

Throughout all 18 movies, the various heroes have faced many foes and challenges. Many of the heroes have also encountered Infinity Stones. There are six Infinity Stones, which are gems that each hold a different power. Once all the Infinity Stones have been put together, they hold the ultimate power of the universe. Currently, the Avengers have found the reality stone, space stone and mind stone. The Guardians of the Galaxy have found the power stone, and Dr. Strange has found the time stone. The only infinity stone not yet found is the soul stone. Once all of these stones are used together, they provide ultimate power to their user. Finding all of the infinity stones and gaining ultimate power is the goal of the newest antagonist, Thanos.

Thanos has been working on gaining possession of all six infinity stones since his first appearance in the post credits scene of Avengers. Since Avengers, Thanos has also been seen in the post credit scene of Avengers: Age Of Ultron and in Guardians Of the Galaxy. Each time Thanos appears, it is clear he has one thing on his mind: gaining the power of the Infinity Stones. When Thanos is seen in Age Of Ultron, he has recently gained the infinity stone gauntlet, or glove, which is what holds the stones and gives the user ultimate power. Once Thanos gains control of all six stones, it will take each and every Marvel character to beat him.  

Avengers: Infinity War is sure to be a huge success. It is currently one of the most expensive movies ever made, costing somewhere between $300 to 400 million to produce. It features everyone’s favorite Marvel stars, including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans. With a budget this big and such a star-studded cast, this movie is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
