Boys tennis impressed Tuesday, as they captured the title of the AAA Conference Tournament. The all-around  effort put a cherry on top of a day already complemented with great weather.

The victory came from a collective team effort, but juniors Derek Fesser, Josh Miller and Nate Heiligenstein’s performance was something special. Fesser dominated his opponent in the number one singles spot, not dropping a match and going 4-0.

“I felt good for sure. I was all able to get good strokes and compete the whole time. Who knows, maybe it was this weather,” said Fesser.

Fesser’s brilliant performance was backed up nicely by fellow juniors Miller and Heiligenstein, who held down the number one spot in doubles with a 4-0 day of their own.

“We were prepared and won the matches, but there’s always room for improvement obviously,” said Miller.

The performance allows the team to hold their heads high heading into the final week of the regular season, in which the Crusaders will play four matches. Best of luck to our boys as they look to continue their success.
