Getting in the Swing of Things

After a long, brutal winter, the golf team is finally getting some decent weather. As the weather heats up, so do the boys. They have a record of 5-3, including a 5-1 record in conference play.

The cold, wet conditions this spring have made it hard, but they are powering through. The team faced Trinity in a cold, windy match last week, but they won by a landslide.

“The biggest challenge this year has definitely been trying to play consistently through the brutal weather conditions,” said senior Colin Kalish.

The experienced team has done well so far, posting good scores in most of their matches. With a varsity team consisting of four seniors and one junior, they have plenty of experience to finish out the year strong.

“Our team has done very well this year. We have been progressively putting up better and better scores,” said junior Joey Fuchs.

The boys have a busy schedule, including three matches this past week, another three to follow and two tournaments all before the district tournament on April 30 at the Links at Dardenne.
The team will head to Elsberry on Tuesday for one of their biggest tournaments of the year. Be sure to wish them luck when you see them around school.
