BreakDown for Christ
Most of us were able to see the wonderful messages BreakDown STL has to offer to high school students when they came to St. Dominic last year. Now one of our very own, Lori Cook, is able to inspire and educate others through this amazing program.
Cook decided to audition for BreakDown in April of 2017 after one of her close friends, Lindsey Peters, had such a good experience with them. Cook went through the exciting audition process to eventually be accepted into the program.
“I really love being able to serve others through Christ. I definitely did not join the team for my self benefit, but through my service of others I have been awarded with the blessings that BreakDown has brought me, such as growing closer to Christ and building bonds with my teammates,” said Cook.
The mission of BreakDown is to educate, equip and empower teens to make strong life choices. Cook talked about how their mission statement is very important to her and it one of the main reasons she is so happy to be a part of the program.
“BreakDown STL educates, equips, and empowers teens to make positive life choices regarding relationships… I definitely have a passion for helping people and their mission statement is definitely something I am passionate about. I think it’s a great way to deliver the message of the different topics the BreakDown STL covers,” said Cook.
It is always great to see St. Dominic students doing amazing things out in the community. Cook’s work with BreakDown is yet another great example of Christ working beyond the walls of St. Dominic into our greater community.
