Alexes of the Senior Class

Maintaining one’s individuality might seem difficult among a large group of people with the same name, but the Alexes of the senior class pull it off flawlessly. No matter what class you’re in, chances are one of the nine Alexes is present.

Johnson
Alex Johnson, better known as AJ or Johnson, is involved in our Mock Trial team at St. Dominic. He plans to attend Miami University in Oxford, Ohio next year to study business and prepare for law school. Alex has been playing lacrosse since fifth grade and particularly excels in the position that scores the majority of the team’s goals—attack.

Sabala
Alex Sabala holds considerable interest in the areas of math and science, which is evident through her involvement in the Robotics Team and Math Team at St. Dominic. The consistency and logic behind math and science are what draws her to the subjects. Sabala hopes to attend Georgia Tech, the University of Michigan or Purdue to study mechanical engineering, but she is still juggling the logistics to find the university that will best suit her!

Kelsch
Alex Kelsch is a member of National Honor Society and Mock Trial at St. Dominic. Alex is attending Mizzou next fall to pursue her dream of becoming a pediatrician despite her initial intention of becoming a marine biologist when she was in kindergarten. Alex is an avid fan of everything Disney and Pixar, especially Tangled, Finding Nemo and Toy Story 2.

Kimbel
Alex Kimbel plans to attend Stephens College next year in Columbia, Missouri, near Mizzou. She is unsure of her major at the moment, but is leaning toward fashion. Alex’s passion for couture and clothing design was largely influenced by her mom and sister when she was younger. Her style varies from subtle hints of decade fashion to contemporary trends.

Callahan
Alex Callahan is one of our 28 senior advisors at St. Dominic. Unsure of his major, Alex will be attending St. Charles Community College next fall. Callahan is the tallest of the Alexes, looming over everyone at a groundbreaking 6 feet, 6 inches. When asked how the weather was up there, Callahan replied with a well-rehearsed “colder.”

Cammarata
Alex Cammarata is involved in Peer Ministry, NHS and volleyball at St. Dominic. Alex has been playing volleyball since fifth grade and has been a part of the boys’ team at Dominic for the past two years. Alex is excited to be entering Kenrick Glennon Seminary next fall to help him discern whether or not he is called to become a priest.

Slaid
Alex Slaid is involved in Senior Advisory, NHS, Music Inc. and Chamber Choir at St. Dominic. She will be attending UMKC next fall to pursue her dream of becoming a successful traveling nurse. Something to note about Alex is her love for the North Carolina Tar Heels. During basketball season, she and her dad both enjoy watching their favorite player, Luke Maye, “break some ankles.”

Becker
Alex Becker is a Peer Minister at St. Dominic. He will be attending Truman State University in Kirksville next fall to pursue a major in computer science. He particularly likes the distance, size and affordability of the school, as well as their program for computer science. Alex’s interest in the field was originally sparked by creating various programs with the help of his computer teacher in grade school.

Tocco
Alex Tocco plans to attend St. Charles Community College next fall. Unlike the other Alexs, Tocco revealed knowledge of the name’s meaning. The name Alex means “protector of people.” Tocco is known for his laid-back, carefree attitude about life—most would consider him to be a “chill” guy.

Each of the Alexes displays notable charismatic traits, despite the looming presence of their duplicate names. Nonetheless, every single one of them has admitted to being either somewhat or completely desensitized to their own name. For them, it’s the norm.
