Senior Column: Conner Havrilla

One of the reasons I joined peer ministry is because I really wanted to deepen my faith and be a leader. As a peer minister, I had many amazing experiences leading retreats and watching other people grow in their faith.

The juniors I met on Kairos, a retreat peer ministers lead, are absolutely incredible and they will always hold a special place in my heart. I have built countless relationships with students in the junior class. When I leave for college, I will never forget them.

It is so rewarding to be a peer minister because even though we have to work a lot by leading and setting up religious activities, we also are able to see the value in our work. Some people want to have an open mind when going to confession or participating at mass, and I think that is the most fulfilling thing to see as a peer minister. If you are thinking about applying for peer ministry, I suggest you go for it. Peer ministry is an incredible opportunity where you are able to meet new people and have countless opportunities to grow closer to Christ.
