New and “Improved” Snapchat
Snapchat is definitely feeling some backlash from the recent update. The mind-altering layout left users confused, frustrated and fueled with rage.
The app is loved so much, or was loved, for its easy-to-follow format. People don’t want to be playing hide-and-seek while trying to view their friends’ stories.
“You’ve been using Snapchat for so long and get used to the normal layout of it—and sure, little changes are fine because they’re just random updates, but when you change the entire layout, it makes it harder to use,” said sophomore Nate Johnson.
Snapchat’s original goal was to create major modifications that would make the company some money, but it might have just backfired.
“The update is more complicated than math,” said senior Paul Meier.
Unfortunately, rumors of the company rolling back its new update are false. Snapchat is standing by the alterations in hopes that the public will eventually adapt to them.
“Updates as big as this one can take a little getting used to, but we hope the community will enjoy it once they settle in,” said Snapchat.
Reverting to the old version of Snapchat has proven to be effective, but not without constant glitching in the system. Experts advise avoiding the circulating tips and tricks. Clearly, there’s only one way out of this mess—snail mail. Now that all hope is lost for Snapchat, it’s our chance to bring back the authenticity of handwritten communication.
