A Halloween How-To

Halloween used to mean dressing up, collecting all the candy possible and chowing down on delicious treats with your friends. As we grow older and trick-or-treating is tossed to the curb, it becomes harder to make plans for Halloween. This year, stick to this simple Halloween How-To, and you’ll be set!

Have a costume party with your friends
The worst part of not going trick or treating is having to ditch the costumes. This year, dress up and get together with your friends to show off your awesome costumes! You can set up cute decorations, make some yummy Halloween treats and enjoy spending time with your friends. We may be “too old” for trick-or-treating, but we’re never too old for a good time with friends!

Ghost stories at Jefferson Barracks
Are you looking for something spooky to do this Halloween? Heading out to Jefferson Barracks to hear creepy stories might be the perfect option for you. The dim light of a candle, creaking floors and spooky noises make the perfect setting for a good Halloween scare. Admission is only $5 per person, but you have to register in advance. Check out their website to sign up and be spooked!

Bonfire with friends
Nothing screams fall and brings people together like a bonfire, which is the perfect idea for Halloween this year! Everyone can dress up, and you can spend the night roasting hotdogs and marshmallows over the fire. You can swap out all the candy for s’mores as your treat—or have both! Setting up the fire pit in the driveway to pass out candy makes this option even more fun!

Pumpkin Carving in the Park
If you are looking for something to keep you busy during the day, Suson Park is the way to go! Pumpkins, carving tools and designs are all provided at the park. Admission is $10 per person, and it is the perfect way to get in the Halloween mood!

Getting older does not mean that Halloween gets boring. Whether you stay in to pass out candy or go out to get spooked, try to make this Halloween the best one yet!
