Is Vinyl Still Relevant?

Any hipster will assure you that any song sounds better on vinyl, but how true is this statement? Vinyl, especially vintage records, can cost upwards of $30. Is a plastic disc for an album you can get for free on Spotify really worth breaking your bank?

“I prefer vinyl because it’s nicer to have a physical collection to look at and use. It’s more personal than just using Spotify or downloaded music,” said senior Noah Vaughan.

It is true that the sound quality of Spotify is usually far superior to that of a record, but vinyl adds a completely new aspect to music. You get to collect each album, and watch the disk spin while it plays. If you have never experienced a love for vinyl, go to your local vinyl store and pick out your favorite. Disappearing Disney

Disney fans and Netflix bingers beware! On August 8, Disney announced they would be pulling their shows and movies from Netflix to create their own streaming site. Disney plans to launch the site in 2019. Don’t stress quite yet, we still have time. Disney will be phasing out the movies slowly, so Disney movies that are already on Netflix will remain there until their contracts expire. Unfortunately, new movies like Toy Story 4, Frozen 2 and the live action version of The Lion King will not appear on Netflix.
