Golf Ladies on Their Way to Districts
The golf girls are more than a team: they are family. With their season wrapping up, these ladies are getting prepared to play in districts. Winning their match against Notre Dame 204-214, but falling to Ursuline 189-195, these girls are ready to take on their post season.
The team’s dedication sometimes flies under the radar, but these girls are practicing at the course every day. The hard work they put in comes through in their performance.
“We put in tons of practice out on the course and at the range, but it was also very helpful to practice outside of that. Golf is a very mentally driven game, so a lot of it was about perfecting our endurance against competition,” said senior Sydney Hofstetter.
At conference on September 18, the girls shot 185 through nine holes, placing second in their conference. The competition put them in the right mindset for districts.
“I believe that if we all compete the way we did at conference, we will perform well at districts,” said sophomore Trinity Hofstetter.
“I want to practice a lot before districts and do the best that I can do,” said senior Reece Gentry.
Overall, what makes the golf girls great is their bond. Whether they score a 36 or 54, they support each other no matter what.
“Everyone on the team is rooting for each other, and because of the competitive nature, we also push each other to play our best golf,” said junior Emma Story.
“The best part of the season was definitely growing close to all of the girls on the team and being able to play with my sister almost every match,” said Trinity Hofstetter.
Wish these golf ladies luck as they head into districts! They are definitely a team to be watching.
