Nick Hoac and Amanda Tippet

Nick Hoac and Amanda Tippet are one of the two junior couples who get to walk the field on Friday night. Tippet is on the varsity volleyball team at SDHS, while Hoac is on the football team.

“I’m most excited for the experience and memories for being on court, and surprise and excitement rushed through me when they announced Amanda and me because I wasn’t expecting to even be on court,” said Hoac.

“Some of my friends had told me they would vote for us but I honestly thought it was a long shot and we wouldn’t have a real chance. I was filled with joy and extremely thankful and honored to have the opportunity to be on homecoming court,” said Tippet.

Being on court being is an exciting surprise for Tippet and Hoac. Both of them can’t wait to take on homecoming for “A Night in Paris!”

Freshmen Alayna Metherd and Gavin Kalish are going to their first high school dance in style. Kalish is an ambassador at St. Dominic and is also on the soccer team. On the other hand, Mertherd is a cheerleader and part of the JV volleyball team.

“What I am most excited about being in hoco-court is that I get to represent my class, and I get free tickets,” said Kalish.

“When they announced that I was on court I was really excited! I’m looking forward to the pep rally and the homecoming game. I can’t wait for my first homecoming and to make new memories with my friends,” said Mertherd.

Get ready to see these freshmen parade in at homecoming. It is such a wonderful and unique experience to be on court, so go support everyone wearing tiaras this week!
