Footprints Leading to Districts
The St. Dominic girls soccer team is having a great season. The Footprints game with Cor Jesu May 10 was another big win leading towards their upcoming district competition.
St. Dominic has put on the annual Footprints game for six years in support of the SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center. The Footprints program helps the families of children suffering with complex medical conditions by providing specialized care and comfort.
“Not only is it a Catholic hospital, but it is also where my wife worked so I have a connection there,” said Coach Greg Koeller.
St. Dominic faced Cor Jesu in an exciting 2-1 match with goals scored by Kassidy Louvall and Ella Kasubke. You may have picked up one of the iconic Footprints T-shirts sold at school last week. Baskets made by the St. Dominic soccer teams were also auctioned off at the game, with all proceeds benefiting Footprints.
“It was an important game for us because Cor Jesu is a really good program and it was our twelfth victory in a row,” said Coach Koeller.
Next up for the girls varsity team is their first district match against Warrenton on Monday the 15 at 4:00 here on the home turf. Sitting on the number one seed, the girls’ chances at claiming the district title are looking promising. The district finals will be May 19, so be ready to pack the stands for what will be a great game!
