After a long day of jumping through sprinklers and munching on  ice cream, there’s nothing better than curling up with your friends to watch your favorite summer movie. Here is a list of the top ten summer movies:

10) Dolphin Tale

In this movie based on a true story, Sawyer Nelson’s summer will be spent in the worst way he can imagine: summer school. This quickly changes when he comes across an injured dolphin washed upon the shore on his way to school. The dolphin is taken to an animal hospital where Sawyer works alongside Dr. Clay to save the dolphin. This is the perfect summer flick that will pull your tail-strings.

9) Camp Rock

Mitchie Torres gets the chance of a life time to attend Camp Rock, as long as she works with her mom in the kitchen. By the end of the summer Mitchie will learn a lot more than how to hit a high “C.” Watch this Disney classic to relive your second grade summers and sing some classic disney rock.

8) Finding Nemo 

After the death of his wife and other eggs, Marvin becomes obsessed with the protection of his last child, Nemo. When Nemo disappears, Marvin sets out on an infamous quest to find his son. This movie is the classic fish tale for any age.

7) High School Musical 2 

The student body of East High thinks their summer is ruined when star athlete, Troy Bolton, signs them up for a summer job. Through song, dance and heartbreak, these teenagers realize what it means to be a team. Put yourself in this film and imagine sitting poolside with Sharpay or shooting hoops with Chad.

6) Jaws

Shark attacks leave the community of Amity Island in terror. Police Chief, Martin Brody, is determined to hunt down the shark that is leaving his townspeople scared of the water. Jaws is a great change from the normal cliche summer movies. Curl up on the couch and enjoy some very bad special effects, with a classic storyline.

5) Lilo and Stitch 

After the devastating loss of her family, Lilo just wants a friend. Stitch brings Lilo on an adventure she never expects. This is a heartwarming story of family, friends and love. Because, “Ohana means family and family means no one gets left behind or forgotten.”

4) Dirty Dancing 

Francis “Baby” Houseman arrives at a resort in the Catskill Mountains of New York looking for nothing more than a quick and painless family vacation. Baby is strung into an adventure when she meets the mysterious dance instructor, Johnny, and becomes his new dance partner. Any fan of romance will love this classic summer romance story.

3) Grease

Sandy and Danny expect their summer fling to be just that, but it all changes when Sandy transfers to Rydell High. Drama rises as Danny and Sandy question whether their summer love can be something more. This movie is filled with great music you can’t help but dance to.

2) The Sandlot 

Scottie Smalls moves to a new house and town, filled with new and unusual people. While in the struggle of fitting in, he makes friends with his fellow neighbors over one love: baseball. Sandlot tells the timeless tale of friendship and growing up, perfect for any summer night.

Everyone dreams of adventure, but this group of kids run into it head on. This movie is a classic tale of friendship and adventure. It shows us that anything can happen if you work together, and you may even find some treasure.
