Oh, The Places You’ll Go
Class of 2017 is setting off to do tremendous things all across the country, while majoring in some of the most unique subject areas.
Bradley Sievers is pursuing his passions through studying audio production and music at Webster University in Webster Groves. Although he is staying fairly close to home, he will be exploring the exciting world of music through his studies.
Gabi Gevers will be literally rowing her way to the University of Alabama. She will be on the women’s rowing team and be majoring in international business while minoring in Chinese.
“I chose the University of Alabama because I can row and study my passions. I was really excited when I saw that Alabama had both,” said Gevers.
Dani Anjeh is off to New York where she will attend St. Lawrence University and study international relations and African culture. She plans on spending a full semester in Kenya to expand her African culture studies and study poverty firsthand.
Brynn Murray is headed to St. Joseph, Minnesota where she will be studying business at the College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University. The college is stuck in the cold weather for the majority of the year, as temperatures were in the thirty degree range this past week.
Tyler Johnson’s college studies will take him to soaring new heights. He plans on attending SLU’s Parks College of Aviation to become a commercial pilot to follow in the footsteps of his family members.
“Being a pilot is a strong tradition in my family and I am thrilled to become a part of that tradition,” said Johnson.
Polina DeClue scoured the country to find her perfect school and set her mind on Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She will be preparing for law school by studying economics and politcal science.
Bryce Weindel is following God’s unique plan for his life by pursuing studies at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary here in St. Louis.
Natasha Vandamme is heading off to sunny California where she will be studying psychology at the University of California San Diego.
Alexis Liszewski will attend Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland where she will be fulfilling her long-time dream of swimming in college. While she isn’t racing, she will be studying biology to prepare for medical school.
“I chose to go far away because there is so much on the East Coast and Goucher has an incredible study abroad program, which is what I loved most,” said Liszewski.
The class of 2017 will be carrying their St. Dominic education throughout the country. Although this is just a glimpse into the seniors’ plans, they are sure to be successful wherever they choose to go and whatever path they choose to pursue.
