RENT

May 19-21, 2017

Poverty, disease and loss plague the minds of these seven young adults in the 1980s, who are coming to New York City to follow their dreams. This musical is the story of a year amidst the AIDS epidemic. The two roommates, Mark, the filmmaker, and Roger, the rock star, struggle to create, while paying their rent. Roger remains numb to life after the loss of his girlfriend, and his diagnosis with AIDS. Mark is doing everything he can to pull him out, but it is harder than one would think. Throughout this year, the characters fall in love, make memories and eventually find the inspiration in each other to create. This rock musical written by Jonathon Larson brings life to taboo issues, and shows that friendship is not easy. This Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner is a great choice for any rock fan, but do not forget the waterproof mascara and tissues.
