Bingeability
After a long, hard week of school and studying, the only thing students want to do is relax. What better way to relax than spending 12+ hours a day watching a TV show on Netflix? We may even do it so often that we are running out of shows to watch. Well, I will rectify that situation by giving you the best shows to binge watch and maybe even re-binge watch.
The first and my personal favorite is The Walking Dead. Yes, it’s another “end of the world/apocalypse” show, but it’s one of the best. Following a group of individuals and their struggles in the new zombie-infested world, the show does amazing work in capturing the audience’s attention. From well-casted characters to emotional plot twists, this show has it all. If you haven’t seen it, or even if you are a huge fan (like myself), I seriously recommend binge watching this show. You can find seasons one through five on Netflix now.
The second and fairly newer show is Stranger Things. The show, set in the 1980s, is all about the disappearance of a boy, Will, and the crazy, puzzling and intense chain of events that happen after. The show features extremely good, young actors and, overall, a very personable cast. While many may have already seen this, watching it through again won’t hurt as the complexity of the plot is creating more and more fan theories. This first season is on Netflix now and if you are a true binge watcher, you could easily finish it in one lonely weekend.
For any of you out there looking for a laugh, I would highly recommend It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The show, starring a group of friends who own a pub, follows their lives and all of the interesting and uninteresting things that happen in it. From dancing to flying on a plane, the show covers everything. Nearly all of its seasons are on Netflix now and it is one of the funnier shows I have seen in a long time.
On a more serious note, with all the political talk going on, I recommend House of Cards. The show stars Kevin Spacey as Frank Underwood, a politician moving up the ranks. The show offers a glimpse into the political life and the struggles that come along with it. One of the cooler aspects about the show is that it breaks the fourth wall. This means that Underwood talks to the audience directly and gives his thoughts or take on the situation. With twists, turns and plenty of drama, this show doesn’t disappoint. Get caught up on the show now with seasons one through five on Netflix.
I have one last recommendation for everyone: Mad Men. This may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it is one of the most thrilling and entertaining dramas. Being one of the most highly rated Netflix shows and winning countless awards, the show is nothing short of spectacular. Featuring countless plot twists and crazy moments, Mad Men keeps you guessing and intrigued the entire time. The show follows people working at an advertising agency and the changes they went through during the 1960s. If you have time and are looking for a longer commitment that will be well worth it, I highly recommend Mad Men. All seven seasons are available on Netflix now.
These five shows are some of the best that I have seen on Netflix. Many may be wondering where Breaking Bad, Grey’s Anatomy and The Office are, but I wanted to give some love to the shows that people don’t always think about right away. Hopefully, you all gain a new favorite show out of this. Happy binge watching everyone!
