Get Your 25
Every dig, every set, every hit all adds up to that golden number of 25 for the St. Dominic volleyball girls. The volleyball team worked hard to reach this goal in the start of their season, and they continue to stay red hot as they head into districts.
Before the season started, the volleyball girls spent all summer preparing for an unforgettable season. This year, the volleyball team advanced to Class 4, making for a tough competition lineup for districts. In District 7, the girls will play the following teams: Francis Howell, Francis Howell Central, Fort Zumwalt East, North, South and West.
The girls have done more than just prepare to take on districts. Their record this season thus far is 8-1, and they remain undefeated in their conference. The Crusaders have competed and beat many big school teams and they took first place in the St. Francis Borgia tournament.
Although hard work has definitely contributed to the girls’ successes, one of the team captains, senior Alaina Rothermich, gives credit to the bond with her teammates.
“We have three seniors, three juniors and four sophomores– almost the exact same team we had last year, so the chemistry we have on the court makes us stronger,” said Rothermich.
The cooperation and hard work that the volleyball team shows has not gone unrewarded. This is one of the best seasons the girls have played. They are excited to take the court in the district tournament. Good luck to the girls as they finish their season!
