The St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Cottleville has become increasingly popular throughout the years. Taking place in the heart of St. Charles, it is a closer option than other parades and it provides families and friends with a day full of entertainment.

This year’s 8th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Cottleville took place on Saturday, March 12. It began at noon and ended around 1 o’clock, earlier than past years.

Many of St. Dominic’s very own participated in the parade, one being freshman Mackenzie Ballard.

“I have been walking in the parade for maybe five or six years now; however, this was my second year at the Cottleville parade. I was walking for the Maggie Welby Foundation,” said Ballard. “I like walking in the parade; I see a lot of people and it’s always a great pleasure to do anything to help out the Maggie Foundation and the Welby family.”

This year, there were a multitude of different floats that participated, each with its own quirky factor that made it stand out from previous years. Live bands, roller skaters and baton twirlers dazzled the crowd while still representing their organizations with pride.

The Cottleville Parade has become a tradition to many. It never fails to bring friends and families together for a day full of laughter and fun.
