St. Dominic houses go head to head in Quiz Bowl
As St. Dominic gets deeper into the school year, Quiz Bowl has taken a leap. The houses have been competing all week and have been working very hard at answering Mr. Tocks difficult questions.
This year these quiz questions have definitely gotten harder compared to last year. Mr. Tock has spent lots of time working on finding the perfect tricky questions. The questions have ranged from math, science, geography, religion, pop culture, etc.
“I wanted this year’s Quiz Bowl to be even more challenging so that we can really test our families and make it a more exciting environment to lay in,” Assistant Principal for Student Life Mr. Tock said.
The first two rounds have already knocked out most teams and only ten families remain. These families include one family left from houses Gratia, Gaudiam, and Dignitas. Along with three families still standing from Caritas and two families from Temperentia and Virtus.
There are still two more families that have to compete on Friday before we can move onto the final eight teams. The four teams competing for a spot in the top eight include John/Saey (Virtus) vs. Arell/Harrisburger (Dignitas) as well as Tubbs/Koepke/Vogler (Virtus) vs. Ekard/Jowers (Caritas).
“I’m feeling confident so far in Quiz Bowl since we have the most families still in. I’m proud of our families who remain and I’m hoping we can pull off a win this year,” Head of House senior Alex Mueller said.
Although Caritas seems to be on the rise for this year’s Quiz Bowl we can’t forget about Temperantia’s historic winning streak considering they have won the past three years in a row. Will someone else rise to the top or will we see yet another purple victory? Unfortunately the results will have to wait until after spring break.
Everyone is anticipating this year’s championship which will be live streamed for all families to watch. Make sure to save the date for March 28th to see who will be crowned this year’s Quiz Bowl champion winning their house 30 points. Goodluck to all houses and families competing!
