St. Dominic students prepare for spring break next week
As spring break approaches, students at St. Dominic High School in O’Fallon, Missouri, are eagerly anticipating a well-deserved break from their studies. This time of year offers a variety of opportunities for relaxation, adventure, and personal growth. St. Dominic students offered a glance at what they might be up to during their spring break.
Many students are likely to take advantage of the break to travel and explore new destinations. Some might head to popular vacation spots like Florida, California, or even international locations. These trips offer a chance to unwind on sunny beaches, visit theme parks, or immerse in different cultures. For those staying closer to home, day trips to nearby attractions like the St. Louis Zoo, the Arch, or local parks provide a perfect way to enjoy the outdoors and create lasting memories with friends and family.
“I am blessed to get to spend my spring break in Florida! I love spending my time down there since I also get to see family” Senior Ava Schwane said.
While some students seek adventure, others might use the break to give back to the community. Volunteering at local shelters, participating in community clean-up projects, or helping out at food banks are just a few ways St. Dominic students can make a positive impact. These activities not only benefit those in need but also foster a sense of responsibility and compassion among the students.
“I get to spend my break working on my senior service project at Twin Oaks, I love being there and helping those who need it,” Senior Jackson Jones said.
Lastly, spring break is an excellent opportunity for students to catch up on hobbies and personal interests. Whether it’s reading a new book, practicing a musical instrument, or honing athletic skills, this time allows students to pursue their passions without the pressure of schoolwork. Some might also take this time to start preparing for upcoming exams or college applications, ensuring they stay on track for their future goals.
“I am planning on reading the book series I started over break. I love reading and it’s a hobby that I am excited I was able to pick back up on,” Senior Ella Schmitz said.
St. Dominic students have a wide range of activities to choose from during their spring break. Whether they’re traveling, volunteering, or indulging in personal interests, this break offers a chance to recharge and make the most of their time away from school.
