After the St. Dominic Technology Director, Doug Small, left there is a huge gap to fill at St. Dominic. Luckily, Mrs. Boozer has filled in the position, with Mrs. Murphy as her assistant.
Tech can be challenging for many students and teachers alike, that is why it is important to have someone to be there to aid in everyday technological difficulties. So far the biggest challenge for the tech team was learning how to operate the St. Dominic technology for the first time.
“The biggest challenge has been a combination of learning new technologies, a new environment and new faces – but all of this is also so exciting,” Mrs. Boozer said.
Before starting her position at St. Dominic, Mrs. Bloozer has had her fair share of experience with technology at St. Joseph Cottleville as the Technology Director. She found a career at schools through her children.
“Prior to coming to St. Dominic, I was the Technology Director at St. Joseph School in Cottleville. When my children were school aged, I took a break from my IT career to take care of them, but prior to that, I was a programmer for multiple companies (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama and Corning, Inc were 2 of them),” Mrs. Boozer said.
Another great way the tech team has helped support St. Dominic is through the kind, caring, and devoted attitudes they carry around the school.
“I love being able to live my faith while at work! Two of my daughters went to St. Dominic, so I really feel that this is a special place,” Mrs. Boozer said.
St. Dominic is filled with technology that needs to be updated and changed constantly. That is why it is imperative to have a wonderful tech team to help facilitate learning as efficiently as possible.
