The St. Dominic winter formal is almost here! Many students have been anticipating this dance ever since Homecoming.
The winter dance is a joyful, yet stressful, time for many students, as there are weeks of planning what to wear, who to go with, and where to go before and after the dance. What to wear to the dance is often the most asked question. Students usually start looking at dresses to order months in advance. Whether someone is dressed in a sparkling blue dress or a sharp button down, the winter dance is always an amazing time.
“I started shopping online for winter formal dresses in December, then later decided to go shopping in person with my friends in January,” junior Caitlyn Franz said.
Many students look forward to winter formal because of the wonderful experience they had last year. Several students’ favorite experiences from last year range from an exciting dance party, to a wonderful time getting ready before the dance, to a delicious trip to iHop after the dance.
“My favorite part of winter formal was getting ready with all of my friends before the dance,” junior Katarina Magill said.
After months of planning and a week of spirit from Catholic Schools week, the winter dance is finally an excuse for many people to let their hair down and dance the night away with friends or their significant other.
“I plan to go to the dance with a group of five people this year. We are going to take pictures before, then eat and party after,” sophomore Brenden Clarkson said.
Even though opinions and favorite parts are different from person to person, everyone is excited for the chance to take a break from school and enjoy time with friends. Make sure to come and enjoy the excitement on Saturday, February 1.
