New Year’s resolutions have been a tradition for many people around the world. As we say goodbye to 2024 and welcome 2025, it’s a time to set goals for self-improvement.
“I always love to take advantage of the new year and fresh start! This year, I have a lot of goals. I can’t think of anything specific but I want to put my best efforts into being the best version of myself!” said Mrs. Kelly Hobbs the theater teacher and director.
One of the most popular resolutions is to improve health. This can include goals like losing weight, exercising more, or eating healthy. The new year gives everyone a fresh start, and many people take that opportunity to set specific goals. For instance, instead of a resolution to “get fit,” setting a goal to run a certain number of miles each week or to try a new workout class can be more effective and easier to track.
“My resolution this year is to work on healthier eating habits and cut out fast food.” said senior Jackson Jones.
Another common resolution focuses on personal growth and learning new things. This can include several kinds of activities, such as reading more books, discovering a new talent or learning a new hobby.
“I’m hoping to get back into reading this new year. I used to love reading but I kind of fell out of it, do I’d love to pick it back up.” said senior Natalie Whede.
Financial goals are also a priority for many people at the start of the year. Resolutions like this might include saving more money, paying debts, or creating a budget. Many people strive to spend less and save more. This time of year gives everyone the perfect opportunity, especially to recover what was spent around the holidays.
“This year, I’m hoping to work on saving my money and doing better with budgeting.” said Mrs. Peggy Luedecke the math teacher.
The new year gives everyone a chance to better themselves and their lifestyle. Take advantage of this new beginning and set achievable goals for 2025. Happy New Year!
