St. Dominic winter sports are quickly approaching the beginning of the season. These activities include girls’ swim and dive, girls’ basketball, ice hockey, and boys’ basketball.
Starting off strong, St. Dominic Hockey is gearing up to start the season. They hope to win the playoffs again after their amazing victory last year. The Hockey team started practicing on September 9th this year and will conclude in March this year.
The next winter sport preparing for this season is girls’ swim and dive. Swim practices are scheduled to dive back in on November 11 this year. The first meet will be held on December 4 at the Recplex. Many student athletes are excited for the season to start and to beat the times they achieved last year.
“I’m very excited to start this swim season this year. I intend to beat my backstroke and freestyle times from last year and have even more fun with my teammates.”, junior Chloe Kirkpatrick said.
Girls’ Crusader basketball is ready to bounce back into season this year, with many athletes excited to rejoin their teammates and win more games. The girls already started their practices for the season on Thursday, November 7. Their first basketball game is scheduled for November 19th this year.
“I’m very excited for the basketball season to start! The basketball team is like my family and I love the relationships it has brought me,” junior Kate Mcdonald said.
Boys basketball is also ready to begin the season. 2022 was the last time they won the district championship, and they hope to win it again this year after building up the team these past few years. The first games of the season will be held on November 20th and 26th.
