St. Dominic’s fall break is approaching fast. One of the biggest problems during a break from school is trying to find fun things to do with your free time.
Many students repeat the same things they did last year. Generally this includes watching scary movies, going trick or treating with younger siblings, or having friends over. While these are fun things to do, it can also be fun to try new things while having the freetime over break.
“Last year over break I went to the pumpkin patch with my friends. Afterwards, we carved the pumpkins we got. I plan on going again this year with friends,” junior Morgan Prudlow said.
Halloween brings about a lot of opportunities and activities for students to enjoy. Halloween themed things to do over break include going to a haunted house with friends, watching horror movies at home or in the theaters, handing out candy to trick or treaters, going to the pumpkin patch, carving pumpkins, or going to Fright Fest at Six Flags.
“My favorite thing to do over Halloween Break is to watch scary movies with my friends and get dinner afterwards. This tradition started with one of my friends a few years ago and grew over the years,” junior Katarina Magill said.
However, if Halloween does not sound interesting there are many things to do outside of Halloween. Many things to do include going to the mall with friends, volunteering, catching up on sleep, spending time with family, playing video games, and baking.
“My favorite thing to do over break is to spend time with my grandparents when they come to town and go to Fright Fest with my friends,” junior Caitlyn Frantz said.
Spending time with family and friends over break is also important. With having time off of school it’s easy to forget about spending time with family while being occupied with going out with friends. Fun things to do with family include the pumpkin patch, having a bonfire, carving/painting pumpkins, and going out to dinner.
As Halloween break approaches make sure to keep up with school work while enjoying time off of school. It can also be easy to forget assignments, so make sure to stay organized. Enjoy Halloween break!
