Over the summer our amazing faculty worked hard on creating the perfect platform for our students, parents, and staff.
Going to a large high school can get very confusing with trying to keep up with everything that is going on. Whether that’s sports, lunches, or just basic St. Dominic news, students can access that through the new app.
“A main focus of our school app is to quickly connect the user to information or resources already on the website, without having to search. A lot of our forms, links and events are now available with one click or tap,” communications director Alyssa Kochin said.
Many other schools have their own app just like ours so we needed a way to make the app custom to St. Dominic. Thanks to Edilo, the app developer, the communications team was able to create and build our app.
“I worked closely with a developer to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to what we wanted to place on the app, along with controlling how different sections were organized – for example, the quick links,
hletics, students or parents buttons,” Mrs. Kochin said.
One of the best features is the quick access to myschoolapp or Blackbaud. Myschoolapp can take a long time to load on Safari or Chrome, so they created the perfect working link for myschoolapp.
“My favorite feature of the app is that I can access everything I need to see, what classes I have and what day it is,” junior Houston Yonaka said.
The St. Dominic app was created to make the school run easily but also safely. The team has created a link that takes faculty and staff straight to the crisis go link. This makes it easy to report anything, and gives them the information to keep the school safe and protected.
“It was important for me to make sure that all our students and staff had access to crisis go, as that is the way we keep everyone safe in case of an emergency,” Mrs. Kochin said.
The St. Dominic community encourages every student, parent, factually and staff to download the St. Dominic app to stay up to date with any information they may need!
