While the school year is coming to an end, many fun events are just beginning! Spring can be a hectic time of year, but Dominic makes sure to make the most of it. Whether it be through dances, celebrations, or activities, students and staff alike are provided with many events to look forward to!
1.House Assembly
As the end of the year draws to a close, the winner of the house cup must be settled. That being said, on April 19th, Dominic’s six house’s will gather for the last all-school assembly. Although Dignitas is currently on top and leading by a large number of points, other houses are seeking out a comeback. The House Cup finale is their last chance to do this.
“As a senior, I love being a family captain, and really look forward to getting to experience the House Cup with my family,” Haley Cannavan said.
2. Prom
As arguably the most fun dance Dominic puts on, Prom takes place on Friday, April 26th at Old Hickory Golf Club. This year, the theme is ‘Once Upon A Time’ and is sure to become one of the best yet. While this event is only for juniors and seniors, Dominic gifts the whole school with a day off, making it special for all members of the St. Dominic community.
“I’ve never been to prom, but I can imagine how fun and exciting it is going to be,” Junior Ava Gandolfo said.
3. Crusader Day
Every year, Dominic puts on Celebrate St. Dominic Day, and this year is sure to be one of the best. In the past, students have received a dress down day and donuts as soon as they walk into school. However, you must donate $5 to support St. Dominic. Additionally, at lunch, students are provided with snow cones and numerous bouncy houses.
“I always look forward to Crusader Day because it’s a fun celebration that the whole school participates in,” Junior Marissa Clemens said.
4. Living Rosary
Every May, St. Dominic puts on the Living Rosary and a beautiful opportunity to honor our Mother Mary. This tradition includes a rosary and prayer service put on by Campus Ministry. Additionally, it honors seniors who have gone above and beyond in terms of service.
“I love to pray to our Mother Mary for guidance and the living rosary is such a beautiful way to,” Junior Bella Hammond said.
5. Graduation
Although only seniors participate in Graduation, the event is hard to overlook. This year on May 15th, the class of 2024 will gather in the Crusader stadium and walk across the stage into their new journey. Following graduation, seniors will participate in a senior-lock in and enjoy their last St. Dominic event.
“It’s sad to think that senior year is almost over, but I’m excited to see everyone graduate together,” Senior Megan Osterholt said.
While the anticipation for summer is high, it’s important to remember the events taking place in the near future. The school year is nearly over, but make sure to leave room for excitement!
