Every morning, St. Dominic staff and students file into school carrying countless cups of coffee. These drinks include lattes, expresssos, and cold foams ranging from a variety of expensive coffee shops. However, while it might be impossible to forgo your morning coffee runs, what if St. Dominic created a coffee bar of their own?
Crusader Cafe food is already loved amongst the St. Dominic community, so adding a coffee bar would only increase the cafeteria’s popularity. In the past, the cafeteria has sold smoothies and caffeinated beverages, which were frequently sold out. To replace these items, imagine a hot-coffee bar filled with delicious coffee and toppings.
Additionally, each morning coffee is freely available for teachers. Why not give students an opportunity to purchase a cup of coffee? Creating a bar would provide a great opportunity for students to purchase a cheap(er) cup of coffee, while St. Dominic still earns a profit. Earning more money would boost St. Dominic funds that could then be used elsewhere throughout the community.
If you’re like me, you probably rush into school each day, due to making a morning coffee stop. With the addition of St. Dominic coffee bar, students would be able to create their own coffee within a timely manner. Having an on-site coffee stop would become convenient for individuals both before school and especially during breakfast. While I love my morning coffee runs, even I’ll admit it’s not worth being tardy, and a Dominic coffee bar would instantly solve that problem.
Whenever I went to tour college campuses, each school had their own coffee shop, which was commonly run by students. That being said, Dominic could implement a similar system to provide coffee, while also giving students service hours. This would ascertain the bar is supervised while also supporting hard-working students in numerous ways.
The bar could house a special variety of toppings such as syrups, sprinkles, whipped cream, creamer, chocolate and more. This would create a unique and fun-filled experience for coffee lovers that is different from their normal, time consuming coffee runs. It also would give students a bit more sugar to power them through their days.
Throughout the world coffee has become an obsession, but also a necessity. The St. Dominic community runs on coffee, so a coffee bar is a quick and easy way to fuel staff and students alike.
