The 2023 St. Dominic Homecoming Football game was a huge success! The football boys took a huge win against our rival, the Borgia Knights. Through hard work and determination, Crusaders won 34 -24.
This was the definition of a perfect Homecoming football game. Playing a rival school, winning, and the atmosphere was ecstatic. The stands were packed to the brim with Borgia, and Dominic fans. There was not a quiet moment during the game, which made this night even more special.
The Varsity squad definitely took care of business Friday Night. This was a game that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. The first three points in the game were made by Borgia, putting them on the board before St. Dominic. Soon after this, the Crusaders tossed the ball to Senior Thomas Pulliam, and he ran 76 yards for a touchdown.
Many big plays were made by Pulliam, which ended in him breaking a school record. So much more to come from this elite athlete as the team continues to show much growth and new records.
Senior Connor Beerman and Junior Mason Kohout, also had a night with one touchdown each. Beerman ran ten yards for a touchdown along with Kohout for forty yards. Beerman has been a key role to this Varsity Squad. With 5 total touchdowns and 192 total yards for this season so far.
At half time the Homecoming Court came out onto the field, and five of which were varsity football players. Brothers Cole Beerman, and Connor Beerman, Owen Reinsch, Brady Burgio, and Andrew Bodmer. Who got recognized with their dates. To add a cherry on top Owen Reinsch was crowned King, the night of Homecoming, and his Queen was Sami Roggenkamp.
As the night came to a close the next thing on these players’ minds was homecoming the next day. Which was also a night to remember. Come out to support the next home game on Friday night at 6pm!
