The girls tennis team is dominating the courts this year. They had a huge win against Notre Dame, and each player is showing off their new skills. Coach Rene Sigala, new Head Varsity Coach, has brought light into the whole program this fall.
With a different coach this year, the dynamic of the team has changed. Coach Rene has brought new ideas and skills to the team. Junior Alex Mueller has enjoyed what he has brought to the team this year.
“With the new coach, I think the team has improved as a whole from last year. Coach Rene really brought us together and made us feel more like a family,” Mueller said.
Senior Megan Wilmes has stepped up this year by leading the team on and off the court, with her positive attitude. She has loved playing tennis the last four years and will forever cherish the friendships she has made.
“I started playing tennis my freshman year and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to make such amazing friends and memories,” Wilmes said.
The tennis team is conquering the courts this year after their last big win. Two doubles teams advanced in the Parkway Tournament. There was a big turn out this year with thirty one players in the whole program. With a tough schedule ahead the girls are preparing everyday.
“Our toughest matchup is visitation. They are very competitive and always find a way to beat us, they all have a lot of skill,” Alex said.
This season is going to be very successful for the ladies tennis team. Each girl is putting in the hard work to better themselves on the court.
