Luke Bryan performs at Hollywood Casino amphitheater to a packed crowd
Over the weekend, Luke Bryan returned to the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater to perform his Country on Tour concert. The highly anticipated performance was enjoyed by many individuals in the St. Louis area, including many members of the St. Dominic community.
The year of 2023 has been filled with popular concerts, many of which sophomore Piper Wiegmann has attended. Luke Bryan, however, was a different experience for her as she was surprised with tickets the night before his performance.
“I was sitting in Dominic’s locker room when my parents texted saying they bought tickets for my friend and I. I couldn’t contain my excitement,” Wiegmann said.
Unlike Wiemann, Katelyn Morris, a Senior at Dominic, anticipated the concert for many weeks. Although she could hardly stand to wait, Bryan’s performance was better than she could have ever imagined.
“I had such a fun time dancing around with all of my friends. We bought grass seats which was the right decision considering we were jumping up and down all night,” Morris said.
The Hollywood Casino Amphitheater was a very fitting venue for Bryan’s performance. Although St. Louis had been experiencing a heat wave days prior, Saturday’s weather became perfect for all concert-goers.
“The weather was amazing and came at the right time. During the last song it started to drizzle, but it was honestly perfect,” Wiegmann said.
For some, Bryan’s performance was their first concert. While Bryan attracts a great crowd, he makes sure to give each and every guest an experience they are sure to remember.
“He was in town and I had never been to a country concert before. My friends invited me and I just had to go,” Junior Abbey Young said.
During his concert Bryan sang many of his top hits, including: That’s My Kind of Night, Country On, and Play it Again. While almost all his songs are enjoyable, it’s safe to say Junior Marissa Clemens has a favorite.
“If I had to choose a favorite I’d say Play it Again. It’s a classic and hearing Bryan sing it live in concert was pretty special,” Clemens said.
Although the concert was only a one night performance, Luke Bryan put on a show many students will never forget!
