St. Dominic’s volleyball program has seen a lot of successful players including junior Brytn Lyon. This star athlete has been up to a lot lately after announcing her recent commitment to Texas Tech University.
Brytn has played varsity since freshman year, and has had a huge impact on the program through her talent, and ability to be an amazing teammate. That talent has helped lead the Dominic volleyball team to two final four appearances in the past two years, alongside Head Varsity Coach Courtney Bland.
“The biggest impact she has as a player is not her talent, it is by far her ability to be a great teammate who is genuinely happy when others succeed, and she is one of the most coachable athletes in our program,” Bland said.
Texas Tech University’s amenities is what drew Brytn to choose this school over other universities. Their top tier volleyball program is already 4-0 in the Big 12 Conference.
“I decided to commit to Texas Tech because the facilities are unlike any other and the campus is absolutely beautiful, the academics are also outstanding,” said Brytn.
The St. Dominic volleyball team is coming off a state run from last year. They have already started the season off right by defeating Westminster, who are the reigning State Champs. Brytn’s looking to conquer this season with her coaches, and teammates behind her.
“I want to guide my team this year back to another state run, and I am hoping to be the most successful I can be at Texas Tech University,” Brytn said.
Come support the girls this upcoming week to watch them battle against Fort Zumwalt West on Tuesday, and Borgia on Thursday. The Crusaders are excited to watch Brytn grow in her next few years at St. Dominic, and Texas Tech. Go Raiders!
