With the growing athletic department, St. Dominic brought in some much needed, and new resources. Mr. Terry Oetting, St. Dominic’s new Assistant Athletic Director is far from inexperienced with his many years of athletic success.
Mr. Oetting has past experience in the sports department with coaching Francis Howell baseball, and softball for nine years. Oetting also contributed his skills being the Activities Director at St. Charles West for twenty years. With all his years of experience in the past Oetting is excited to work at St. Dominic.
“The thing I’ve found is that everyone is very welcoming, I have felt welcome since day one,” Oetting said.
With the fall sports season coming up, Mr. Oetting is an all around sports fan. Oetting is ecstatic to get the sports season started because of his connections with President Mr.Welby, and Head Athletic Director Coach Roberts.
“I’ve been looking forward to working with Mr. Roberts a lot. I was the AD at St. Charles West when Mr. Welby was the AD here, then Mr. Roberts came so I have worked closely with both of them for twelve years,” Oetting said.
Oetting was impressed by St. Dominic’s 92% of student involvement, which exceeded his expectations compared to his previous schools. The student involvement at St. Dominic has increased due to our successful sports programs.
“I’m excited to watch all sports. I’m overseeing ice hockey and I’ve never seen a high school hockey game before. Also, I love watching volleyball because my daughter played,” Oetting said.
Oetting will be a positive addition to St. Dominics growing sports program.
He has an abundance of knowledge that will help our school compete in all sports this year.
