Which is Better: Starbucks vs. Dunkin’

Lily Hente

Debate over Starbucks and Dunkin’ is taking over high schoolers.

There has always been a lifelong debate whether Starbucks or Dunkin has the best coffee. Many students here at St. Dominic always have a coffee in their hand, but which company makes the best? To put an end to the argument, we got the same size and drink from both places.

First, my mom and I went to the Dunkin’ drive through. The service was smooth and ordering was easy. We ordered a medium in the very popular pumpkin spice latte, and an iced cold brew. The latte was $5.49. The drink was flavorful and you were able to taste all the different spices that make up the fall season. The cold brew was $4.50 and had a nice, strong coffee flavor. Both were very refreshing and gave us the necessary caffeine boost to get through the day.

The drive through at Starbucks was fast and efficient. Even though the lines wrapped around the building, workers were taking orders and getting the job done fast. As soon as you pull up to the window, the drink is finished. We ordered a grande pumpkin spice latte and an iced cold brew. The latte was $5.75 and the cold brew was $4.45. The pumpkin latte was exploding with flavors. The mixes of the spices fit together perfectly and made it the perfect fall drink. The cold brew was also smooth and had a very bold bite.

We’ve come to the conclusion that there will never be a final answer of which producer is victorious in the coffee world. If you are looking for any drink that is bursting with flavors Starbucks is your best bet. However if you are looking for something more simple and efficient, Dunkin’ is the store you can always count on. In the end, it all falls down to preference of what you think is best, and everyone has a different opinion.

Be sure to stop by both places and figure out what you go to is for the best coffee!
