The Way To Fame
Baseball’s opening day is always a special game that can say a lot about the rest of the season. The Cardinals came out of the gate swinging yesterday with a 9-0 lead. The team was determined to start the season off strong, and that’s exactly what they did.
Wainwright started the game, with Yadi behind the plate. Wainwright went six innings and did not let up a single run. The Pirates got off five combined hits in the six innings he pitched. His stellar attributes helped the team gain momentum to score runs.
Tyler O’Neil hit a huge three run bomb, and he ended up driving in five of the Cardinals nine runs. O’Neil and Wainwright weren’t the only ones that led the team to a victory.
Yadi threw out two runners at second base. Nolan Arenado and Tommy Edman also hit solo home runs. The game was in the Cardinals possession from the start. It was clear they came out with a sense of pride and put in the work to get the job done.
Although the Cardinals won a victory on the field, they also scored by regaining Albert Pujols. The dynamic trio, Yadi, Pujols and Wainwright, are finally back together. They began by playing as a team, so it will be exciting to see how they finish off their careers.
This year’s season marks a monumental time in Cardinals history. The team, especially Yadi, Pujols and Wainwright, will do everything in their power to earn another World Series title. Tune in tomorrow, Saturday, April 9th at 1:15 to follow the team on their journey to victory.
