Wheels or Doors?
The new trending question that has been taking social media by storm this past week is whether there are more wheels or doors in the world. Why has this become popular? I have no idea, but it has become one of the biggest debates in 2022 so far.
Earlier this week, TikToks about wheels and doors were being sent to people all around the world. Which one is there more of? Well, no one really knows the true answer, but everyone has their own opinion.
Senior Alex Zoellner is someone who thinks about all the possible things that could be a door. She thinks about cabinets, lockers, dollhouse doors and so many more. I’m not sure how much all of these count as doors, but it’s her opinion.
“I think there are more doors because on regular cars, the doors and wheels cancel out. By definition so many things count as doors, like lockers and cabinets. You just have to think outside of the box,” Zoellner said.
Senior Jack Schwering sides with the wheels party because of just how many wheels there are in the world. There are so many things you can include into this category like cars, chairs and even door knobs. Door knobs have a wheel and axle so it is included in the argument.
“Think about the 18 wheeler semi-trucks. Just think for a second, 18 wheels to two doors. Enough said,” Schwering said.
There is a lot of gray area on what counts as a door or what counts as a wheel. I’m going to have to side with Jack on this one and say there are more wheels in the world. I just think about everything that has wheels. Like Jack said, the ratio of wheels to doors on a semi-truck is a huge difference. From what I’ve seen, there are a lot of semi-trucks in the world. Also, think of how many Hot Wheels and toys with wheels that there are in the world. The amount of wheels are endless.
Many people are trying to say that cabinets and lockers are doors. This drives me crazy! To me, a door is something you walk into and out of. Cabinets are cabinets. Not doors. There are also a variety of people saying “Well what about skyscrapers?” These people don’t think about how many chairs with wheels are in those buildings or all of the people that have to park there. Also, contradicting what Alex said, the steering wheel makes the amount of doors to wheels ratio different.
I don’t know why anyone would think there are more doors. If you think about it, every door has a door knob. There’s one wheel for every door. In my opinion, the answer is obvious. There are more wheels than doors in the world.
