Many have talked about the mid 1900’s French bob coming back into style. This haircut could become very popular in the new year, and Junior Gia Danhoff thinks berets will come back along with these French inspired hairstyles.

“I think berets will be popular because there have been several hat trends and I have a feeling that it could become popular this year,” Danhoff said.

Another fashion trend that has been brought up a lot is layering shirts. There is talk of wearing long sleeve shirts and turtlenecks under oversized short sleeve shirts or tank tops. A lot of people think this will be popular in the winter because it will help with warmth. There are also those who believe it will stay popular in the spring and summer because it will be so trendy.

“I know right now, especially with the weather getting colder, layering is becoming more popular as a way to make an outfit cute while also staying warm. However, I think this will continue on throughout the spring and possibly summer,” senior Sophie Gonzalez said.

Gonzalez also had a prediction that statement shoes will become more of a fashion trend. She thinks that people will start wearing bolder shoe choices to match their outfits almost as if it was an accessory.

“I hope to see shoes beginning to make more of a statement in outfits. Lots of people like to have more of a simple outfit then add a fun bag, but I would love to see the same thing happen with shoes,” Gonzalez said.

There are a lot of changes that come with the new year, and fashion seems like it could take a big turn in 2022. Many trends will be coming back in style and others will be making an appearance for the first time. It is always important to stay on top of the new trends just to make sure that you are staying in style!
