Crusaders Crushing the Course
This past Thursday, the 23rd annual SDAA Golf Tournament had a great turn out for St. Dominic alumni, parents, vendors and administration at the Golf Club of Wentzville. The tournament was a great way for members of the St. Dominic community to gather and enjoy a fun day of golf all while supporting the school.
There are two flights for the tournament, one that takes place in the morning, and the other in the afternoon. Each round takes about five hours, with about an hour for lunch or dinner after the tournament.
“I love this event because it brings together alumni, parents, and friends of St. Dominic to have a great time in support of our school, and specifically our Athletic Department,” President of St. Dominic Mr. Jim Welby said.
There are many different sponsors of the SDAA tournament, however this year’s main sponsor was Golden Oak Lending which is actually owned by a St. Dominic family. Some other gracious sponsors included Chick-fil-A, Freise Construction Co., Bank of Old Monroe and so much more.
This year, the winner for the first morning flight of the tournament was a student’s stepdad here at St. Dominic, with a score of -17. For the second flight winner, it was won by a group of St. Dominic alumni who own MO Realty with a score of -21. One of these players even hit a hole in one on their last hole!
The SDAA Golf Tournament is a fantastic way to bring the St. Dominic community together to celebrate the amazing school, alumni, faculty and families who have given so much time and effort towards always bettering St. Dominic for it’s students. This golf tournament is a symbol of the unity and everlasting support that St. Dominic will always have.
