House Cup Champs
The final house competition has come to a close, the points have been tallied, and the winner of the coveted house cup has finally been revealed!
The Domino Effect competition, and the final house competition of the year, ended late Tuesday night. With sixty points at stake, this challenge was incredibly important to the final standings. It was anybody’s game. The competition involved students bringing cereal boxes for the St. Jocham and Ann Care Service and Bread of Life Food Pantry. After the cereal boxes were brought in, the creativity in each house sparked, as short videos were made, displaying the cereal boxes in an interesting way.
“[Making the videos] was very stressful. We didn’t have much to go off of, and it was hard to find good references online, but overall I’m proud of what we created and how many cereal boxes we were able to bring in for charity,” Gaudium Head of House Emily Baird said.
Every house worked hard and put forth their best effort; however, there can only be one winner. In the end, House Temperentia won the St. Dominic 2020-2021 House Cup! It has been a year of hard work for Temperentia, and the house members couldn’t be prouder.
“I am extremely excited [to win the House Cup] because I was very active in our house this year, and was a part of a house that put in so much effort in order to win the House Cup. We had a lot of fun this year, and became a really strong house and so I am extremely grateful it came out on top for us,” junior Alli Herbert said.
The House Cup celebration has been such a great way to wrap up the end of the 2020-2021 school year. It’s been a year of trials and tribulations as the St. Dominic community has had to balance COVID-19 and trying to maintain a “normal” year.
The House Cup and all of the competitions were a great way to take all of our minds off of all the differences and challenges this year. It brought the school together and it was such an awesome experience to watch the winners revealed through the livestream, since no winner was announced last year.
We’re so grateful for everyone who worked hard to make all of the house competitions possible this year. Congratulations once again to Temperentia as they are the 2020-2021 House Cup winner and the St. Dominic community cannot wait to see what next year brings.
