Dominating On and Off the Court: Senior Anthony Lewis

Tony Kalish

Senior Anthony Lewis continues to dominate on and off the court.

Anthony Lewis may be an outstanding basketball player with the most three-pointers and best percentage in the state, but his hustle and ability to be a leader for his teammates is something you can’t find in many places.

Lewis has played on St. Dominic’s varsity basketball team for four years now. With such experience on the team, Lewis has made some pretty big goals, which he is getting closer to achieving each game.

“My dream since I was an eighth grader was to break the thousandth point record,” Lewis said.

Folks, if the St. Dominic varsity team keeps pushing on in districts, Lewis has a great shot of completing his goal. The varsity team is going strong right now with a record of 20 wins and five losses. Lewis is a key player out on the floor and can practically hit any shot from half court to the basket.

Despite his remarkable play on the court, one can’t overlook Lewis’s role on the sidelines. As a senior captain, Lewis is a standout teammate, who, even when having a bad game of his own, is still up clapping and cheering on his team.

Lewis respects everyone and is always humble. Being considered as the best three-pointer in the state, gives Lewis an easy reason to get cocky and show-off, but he is one of the most humblepeople to play. Lewis never thinks he is better than anyone, but just goes out and leaves his heart on the court.

Lewis plans to further his basketball career, but has not committed anywhere yet. Lewis states that his dream school is Duke or Mizzou, but that he just wants to have an opportunity to play somewhere.

I can speak on behalf of the entire St. Dominic community when I say we all would like to see Lewis go somewhere and play because he is an absolute stud and a great guy off the court. Keep looking on social media for when Lewis commits and come on out to the varsity boy’s basketballdistrict finale to watch his insane play on the court.
