Lighting Up St. Charles
It’s the most wonderful time of the year and the lights are shining bright in St. Charles! The highly anticipated (and socially-distanced) Lot of Lights display at the Family Arena is a great way to get in that holiday spirit while still being safe.
The dazzling drive-through light show opened on November 27, and is open every day 5:30-11 through January 2. The cost is $25 per car, and you can order tickets ahead of time online for a touchless experience.
Once you enter the lot through a beautiful light tunnel, you are greeted with over a mile of projections of winter scenes, lasers and even a hologram of Frosty the Snowman! There are several different displays including a Flying Reindeer School, a Victorian Christmas, Candlyland and a classic Winter Wonderland.
As you drive through the lights, you can turn on 87.7 FM station, where music plays that syncs up to the movement of the lights.
The Family Arena isn’t the only place to enjoy holiday lights. The Festival of Lights in Downtown St. Louis has a spectacular projection show put on by the Salvation Army, open through December 2. At Six Flags, the Holiday in the Park covers the amusement park in more than one million lights, which you can experience from all the usual rides. Our Lady of the Snows returns for their annual Way of Lights Christmas display, with over a mile-and-a-half lights, including biblical statues on a journey to Bethlehem.
2020 has been an interesting year, but Christmas reminds us that there are a Lot of Lights at the end of the tunnel.
