St. Dominic Students Sipping On Special Holiday Drinks
Now that the holidays are approaching us, we begin to think about all the things that bring us joy, like Christmas decorations, or spending time with your loved ones. However, we can’t forget the drinks that are seasonal and sure to get us into the holiday spirit!
There’s nothing wrong with a simple cup of hot chocolate to warm up your soul for the holidays. It’s always a great drink after being in the cold weather, or for kids (and kids at heart) after playing in the snow.
“I’d have to say my favorite drink when it comes to the holidays is hot chocolate, but with marshmallows in it, of course, to add flavoring. I always love it on a cold winter day,” senior Ben Messer said.
“Peppermint hot chocolate would have to be my favorite holiday drink, because it gives me the warm holiday feeling,” senior Emma Bruegenhemke said.
Gingerbread flavored drinks always seem to bring some sort of Christmas joy to people’s taste buds, whether it’s cold or hot!
“I love the iced gingerbread latte from Starbucks, because it reminds me of Christmas—and it’s delicious,” senior Kennedy Angus said.
“I’d say a hot homemade gingerbread latte is my favorite drink, because it’s always fun and relaxing to make it after coming home from school or work. It also has that Christmas taste to it that brings me joy,” senior Maggie Scott said.
And of course, you can’t go wrong with a Christmas classic: eggnog. Eggnog cannot, and never will be, forgotten or left out.
“My favorite holiday drink would have to be classic eggnog. Eggnog is the perfect amount of creamy, and has the perfect amount of sweetness,” senior Elena Drummond said.
All these holiday drinks give us a warm and fuzzy feeling to get us through the cold winter. Don’t limit yourself to just your normal holiday drinks, go out and try something new and I bet you’ll love it!
